1. Still graphics and textures: Adobe Photoshop, Corel Painter.

2. Animation sequences: Adobe After Effects. Because it's familiar, not to mention available... On the 3D front, I've played around with several programs over the years, but prefer Softimage XSI which I've been using with a student license.

3. Coding: Apple Mac OS X, Apple Project Builder, Cocoa API. This software combination has made me enjoy coding again. The object-oriented Cocoa framework is based on the 15 years old NextStep API, yet it's still largely unique in its dynamic run-time flexibility and ease of GUI design. I guess that's what can happen when you get the chance to start over and design things right. Supported by APIs such as OpenGL and Quartz, it's a great playground.

4. Web design: Macromedia Dreamweaver and Flash. The site you're looking at was made by me. If you're a HTML purist and hate this site for its use of Flash and CSS features, you should spend some time staring at the objects in the lower left corner and let the gentle shifting colors purify your mind. Just because hate is not healthy for you.

5. Computers: a Power Mac G4 1.25 GHz (I still don't like the "plasto-chrome mutant cyclops" design of this particular G4 series very much, but the price was good...) Also, a self-built dual Athlon MP 1600+ box with a Geforce 2 Ultra, running Windows 2000. It's a noisy PC and the Mac is more fun to use, but the PC obviously kicks its ass for 3D rendering.
